Jenna Shumsky

Senior Director, K-12 Literacy , NYC Public Schools Literacy Collaborative, Office of Curriculum and Instruction, New York City Department of Education 

Jenna Shumsky began her career as a middle school teacher and leader. She earned an MS in School Leadership, with a focus on literacy, from Bankstreet College of Education, and served as a district-level literacy coach and director professional development prior to becoming the Executive Director of the Middle School Quality Initiative – a literacy support office in partnership with over 170 NYC middle grade schools. Today, Jenna is the Senior Directory of Literacy in New York City’s Department of Education.
