Ben Honoroff

Principal, MS50, New York City Department of Education

Ben Honoroff has been the principal at MS50 since 2015. Since his arrival at MS50, sixth grade enrollment has doubled and chronic absenteeism is down 10 percent. Honoroff and staff have overhauled the curriculum and he gets high marks from parents, teachers and students based on their responses to the NYC School Survey. He previously oversaw 10 schools that were part of the Middle School Quality Initiative (MSQI), assisting participating schools with the implementation of the MSQI programs aimed at boosting literacy skills in middle school students. Honoroff was a teacher, debate coach and Assistant Principal at Acorn Community High School.
